ve become accustomed to greatness where is the Jack Lambert on this team? the Mean Joe Green? . bunch of 9-5's who go quietly unnoticed instead. Troy, you got a long way to go before you can fill those Mel Blount shoes. Joey Porter? Joey who?. Three Rocky Bliers at RB and no Franco (no slight to Rocky intended) . how many times are you going to fall down just before you get hit Jerome? Earl Cambell you ain't any more. Big Ben, Terry Bradshaw you aren't . Bradshaw was a tough guy no little baby injuries for him every week like with you. I got so
I moved to Maryland. I used to go to the games all the time until I moved out of town. I just watch it on teevee now because I don't really like driving, and the beer prices got too high. I really want to meet Franco. He's my all-time fave Steeler, but it would be a great honor to meet Vietnam vet Rocky too.Franco ,Rocky,Greene ,Greenwood,Holmes and a slew of others will be at the Monroeville expomart Oct. 28,29 & 30.Saw it in the Steelers digest. Some kinda card show I think.says Thank you ! This might be my opportunity. I mean, I about went nuts when I
. Oh yeah, injuries happen in football. And what about that punch that Duce took in the injured hamstring from a Patriots player earlier in the year? Seems like we have some Pats fans in here screaming about Kimo .Good points but I think the Patriots punch occurred in the regular season game last season. Just a detail, you're right overall. Anyone who thinks they are going to play football - at high stakes - and not risk injury - perhaps career threatening injury - needs to get a grip on reality. Injuries happen. Heck, I still burn with anger and disappointment about
1964), Franco Harris (1972, 1974-1979, 1983), Rocky Blier (1976), Barry Foster (1992). #6 Pitt met Ohio State and future Steelers Quarterback Mike Tomczak in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 2. 1984. Despite 342 passing yards from John Congemi, the Buckeyes scored a late touchdown to win, 28-23. Bonus Question: The answer appears tomorrow.Well he's just a young guy, mid 20's by the look of the picture. Maybe he was just being generous with us for Christmas or filling up space to collect a paycheck cut the kid some a slack. Do it 'for the children&
39;t in the last few years due to injuries. I believe the last time a team had two 1,000 yard rushers was, ironically, the 1976 Steelers with Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier. That team also featured a rookie quarterback (Mike Kruczek) who relied heavily on the running game. I think the only other 1,000 yard can't think of any team that has come this close to having two 1000 yard rushers and two 1000 yard receivers. Any other teams?I'm worried about the LB situation. The Giants had long kick returns because Kreiwaldt was out and Harrison filled in for Haggins and neither were on
He rips off long runs then runs out of bounds just like Franco always did. Bye bye Fast Willie ..its been fun.Hopefully, just like Franco he starts in 4 super bowl wins. I think Franco might still be the all time leading rusher in playoffs.
Decent read. By Gregg Bell -- Bee Staff Writer ALAMEDA - What in the name of Franco Harris is going on in Pittsburgh? In 2001, all was as it should be in the city where shift workers carry hard hats, Iron City Beer and a get-what-you-earn attitude that is as rugged as the stunning, home loss to New England in the conference championship game - was an offense that ran for more yards (an NFL-best 2,774) than it had since 1976. And that Pittsburgh defense was the modern-day Steel Curtain, allowing 1,195 rushing yards, the fewest in a Steelers season since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. Since then,
fan. I can be a fan of any team I want to follow. You are not the boss of me and you do not make any rules about anything. I made up the famous "Headin' for Seven" phrase and I gave it up to the Steelers Nation. I am so like the biggest Steeler fan ever. I remember Franco and Rocky and most of these new found Steelers Nation like you do not even know who I am talking about. Speaking of Rocky I liked that part in the first movie when he goes to the training gym and there is some different lock on his locker. So somebody tells him that is somebody else
Name the first head coach to take the Raiders to the Super Bowl. Not as
easy as you think.
And no Googling!
What is this, a trick question? It's John Madden, of course, to Super
Bowl XI in the 1976 season.
(The other two, XV and XVIII, under Tom Flores.)

Nickd, you need Dr. Brian Asshole's book "Education Is Me"
I have been a Steeler fan since 1972. I remember when an AFCC game in Pittsburgh was (more often than not) a guarantee to go to the Super Bowl. In fact, the only one I can remember losing was the year Franco and Rocky were both hurt in the playoff game before Oakland. Now getting to Cowher. This man is a good REGULAR SEASON coach. Playoff time, forget it. My question is, why does he get a free pass by ALL the media in Pittsburgh?????? No one wants to hold him responsible for this loss. They are even brushing aside the other losses in AFCC games. WTF?????? The so called "experts" (
just kidding nelliThe guy's been dead for 30 years http://www.dhm.de/lemo/objekte/pict/pk005283/200.jpgSo you're saying that 'FRANCO IS *STILL DEAD*'?????????? Thanks for the update, Dan.Not only that, he is still seriously dead!LOL

Is that a record? :-)NYC, isn't it amazing how these "mice in a maze" keep changing their ID's and email addresses in the quest for attention? Pathetic, isn't it?Pathetic doesn't even begin to describe it. Mommy and/or daddy issues are a bitch, lol. We have their parents to thank .
he knoced that grand slam in the top of the 9th, instead of hitting into the double play. Anyone ever eaten at "Chicken on the Hill?" Only the Penguins stunk, but I wasn't into hockey then! :) FuzzballGood post Fuzzball! ZachThanks Zach. You can tell I miss those days, huh? :) I grew up in the Berg, went to Resurrection School in Brookline, a year at South Catholic, and then South Hills High. We moved to California when I was 17, in 1976. I've never been able to shake my love of Pittsburgh, and I can tell you something for sure. Pittsburgh is a great
I loved seeing Franco Harris whip out his Terrible Towel during his pre-game introduction as a former Super Bowl MVP. The other MVPs tried to appear non-biased and professional during their announcements, but good ole Franco couldnt conceal his Steeler Pride and started twirling that towel like it was 1978 all over again!!! Another great moment in a legendary NFL franchise!!!!Yeah, that was perfect. Jack Jag fan in jacksonville,
My best recollections of the 1976 season: As I recall, there was the expansion draft and the Steelers did not protect Terry Hanratty, so Tampa Bay drafted him. Then, Bradshaw gets knocked out and, well, what a time to have let Hanratty get a game, at the most. Don't forget, they still had Franco and Rocky for him to hand off to during that time. The rest is part of Steeler and NFL history.I remember being really pissed when was let Kruczek go. I don't think I ever got over it. I thought he was Bradshaw's Heir apparent. Often thought about him thru the years. (Like
